SERVER AT STANLEY'S

Come and join our Food and Beverage team as a server at Stanley's. Stanley's  is the clubs 4000sqft restaurant that includes a cozy lounge and large patio overlooking the 18th fairway. Enjoy amazings views while you work with expansive floor to ceiling windows giving you the best view in Vancouver! With over 5 outlets in our F&B department there are opportunities for skill development and education. 
 
REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS
  • Previous serving experience an asset
  • Serving it right certificate
  • Flexible schedule with the ability to work all shifts, weekends and holidays
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to provide great customer service in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be able to take direction and work unsupervised
  • Own transportation an asset as bus service is limited

ARBORIST

Position Overview: Capilano Golf and Country Club is currently seeking an enthusiastic and qualified arborist to manage the approximate 20,000 trees spread over the 165 acre golf course property. This individual will be responsible for planning, coordinating and executing a wide variety of arboricultural tasks as they relate to ongoing tree health assessments, removals; and the clubs Tree Management Plan.

EQUIPMENT TECHNICIAN ASSISTANT

Position Overview: Capilano Golf and Country Club is currently seeking an enthusiastic team member to work with the Fleet Maintenance team in the Course and Grounds Department. The Fleet Maintenance team plays an extremely vital role in the successful day to day operation of the department. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of equipment such as mowers, tractors, carts, handheld power tools, fertility sprayers, CAT equipment and many more. This candidate will receive the necessary training to learn and develop mechanical and fleet maintenance skills within the recently renovated state of the art Fleet Maintenance Facility. This position is ideal for an individual seeking a career in the maintenance of golf course equipment or looking to continue or begin a mechanical apprenticeship.

Reporting to the Golf Course Superintendent and Assistant Superintendents, the successful candidates will be responsible for the general maintenance of all golf course surfaces and landscape areas within the 165 acre property.

Hi! My name is Sussanah and I'm the Food & Beverage Services and Event Manager here at Capilano Golf & Country Club. I'm from New Zealand and love long summer days, wine and rugby. My career here started when I got a job in the clubs restaurant as a server part-time while going to school. I worked my way to become a senior manager in the Food and Beverage department and get to work along side a great team. I value the work I get to do here and the memories that we get to create for our members and guests.

Hi! My name is Alex and I am the Food & Beverage Manager here at Capilano Golf & Country Club. I'm of Portuguese and Scottish decent, so family is very important to me. I love soccer, running (1/2 & full marathons) along with wine and good food. My career here started by finding an ad in the local newspaper, I was hired as a busser at Capilano and have since worked my way up the organizational chart over my 12 year tenure. I value my career and those I get to work with day in and day out, this truly is a special place to be.

Hi! My name is Stu and I'm the Course Superintendent at Capilano Golf and Country Club. I began as Second Assistant Superintendent in November 2013, currently beginning my 8th year at the Club. Previous experiences included work in the USA at Muirfield Village Golf Club and the Bay Hill Club, and my career and education began in Ireland. Time away from the golf course includes spending time with my wife and two young children, following sports and playing golf when time allows!

Hi! My name is Mark and I am the Head Professional at Capilano Golf and Country Club. I moved from the UK in  2007 and became an Associate Golf Professional. In 2011 I was fortunate to be able to assume the role of Head Golf Professional at Capilano. I enjoy my role very much as it provides a varied day-to-day work environment as I oversee the retail operation, tournament schedule, Club and power cart storage, driving range and outside service department. I love to play golf at Capilano as often as possible and ski at Grouse mountain with my family.  Along with the outdoor pursuits I also very much enjoy cooking for my family and friends and testing out new recipes!

My motto: Be honest, fair, and treat other as you wish to be treated yourself.

Clubhouse and Salaried Employees

Parking is free and employees get a meal every shift.  Staff golf is also available and free of charge.  Full-time staff and their families automatically qualify for several benefits including extended health, dental, short and long-term disability, and life insurance.  After a qualifying period, staff automatically become members of the club pension plan, which is a defined contribution (money purchase) plan.  Staff contribute 3.5% of earnings and it's matched dollar for dollar by the club.  

Course and Grounds Hourly Employees 

Parking is free, and staff golf is also available.  Health, insurance and pension benefits are provided via the collective agreement.
