Capilano Golf & Country Club, a private facility located in West Vancouver, 15 minutes from the downtown core, is seeking a Accountant to join our Administration Team. This position reports to the Director of Finance and Human Resources.

This is an ideal position for an individual holding an accounting degree and in pursuit of CPA designation. The role is mainly responsible for processing Accounts Payable, Inventory and month - end processing. Great potential for career development.
Duties and Responsibilities include without limitation, the following:
- Manage all aspects of the general ledger, including journal entry preparation, account reconciliations, and month-end close processes.
- Assist in the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis activities to support decision-making processes.
- Perform variance analysis and investigate discrepancies to ensure the integrity of financial data.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and support strategic initiatives.
- Maintain compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and internal controls.
- Assist with external audits and tax filings as needed.
- Continuously seek opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains within the accounting function.
Qualifications and Skills Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- CPA certification or progress towards CPA preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in accounting or finance roles.
- Strong understanding of GAAP principles and financial reporting requirements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, etc.).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
